Krisztina Kerekes was born in Romania in 1978 and lives in Austria. She studied cinematography at the Universtity of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna in the class of Christian Berger and at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf. Since 2005 Director of Photography for documentary and fiction films at home and abroad. In 2009 she got the START-scholarship for film art from the bmu:kk and in 2014 the film-scholarship (residency in Bucharest) from the state of Styria. In addition to her work as a DoP, she repeatedly works as a writer and director in documentary film for cinema and TV.

Christiane Schmidt (*1978) is a filmmaker and DoP who lives in Berlin. She studied Political Science and Science of Art at the Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg. She graduated in 2013 from the Department of Documentary Film and Cinematography at the University of Television and Film, Munich. Her movie „Pădurea e ca muntele, vezi ?“ was premiered at the Berlinale Forum 2014, winning the Newcomer Prize of the Duisburg Filmweek and the Newcomer Prize for Cinematography at the IFFF Dortmund/ Köln 2015.

Marie-Thérèse Zumtobel studied Romance Philology and has a degree in Communication Sciences. After attending an intensive workshop at The New York Film Academy she studied Camera Technology and Cinematography under Christian Berger at FILM ACADEMY VIENNA from 2009-14. Films she worked on as DoP were presented at international film festivals and recognized with various rewards. In 2016, she was portrayed in the series “TALENTS TO WATCH” by Cinema Next. In 2018, she was nominated for the CULTURE AWARD VORARLBERG. Marie-Thérèse presently resides in Vienna working as DoP for both documentary and narrative films. Additional shooting experience in Russia, Nepal, Ethiopia, Italy, Poland, Albania.

Born in Mexico city. Based in Berlin since 2006. She studied film at the San Francisco Film Institute (U.S.A.) Then back to Mexico to study at the CUEC (Center for Film Studies). She holds a degree as Director of Photography from the DFFB (German TV and Film Academy Berlin). Her degree movie “Hagazussa” has screened at several festivals including BFI London and Sitges Film Festival. Her work was awarded with the Michael Ballhaus Prize in 2018. She is co-founder of Retina Fabrik Filmproduktion. Member of the Deutsche Filmakademie and member of the Mexican female DoP's network Apertura. In 2021 Mariel is invited to be part of the AMC (Mexican Society of Cinematographers).

Paola Calvo is a spanish cinematographer based in Berlin. Her interests in the image as a powerful way of storytelling, brought her to study photography and film editing. 2006 Paola began studying cinematography at the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin (dffb). In 2014 she won the Best Cinematography Award at the 10th New Berlin Film Festival for "The Visitor". 2018 she was honored with the National Award for Cinematography at the IFFF for "Violently Happy". For this film, also her final project at the dffb, she was nominated for the First Steps - Michael Ballhaus Best Cinematography Award. Paola is currently working on several feature films and music videos.

Julia Jalnasow was born 1987 in the former GDR. After graduating highschool in 2007 she started working as a projectionist and camera assistent in Munich. Since then she shot several documentaries and fictional movies as well as TV-Series. 2014 she won the First Steps Award / Michael Ballhaus Cameraprize, in 2016 the prize for best cinematography at the IFFF Cologne and in 2017 an international Emmy for „The Braun Family". 2018 she became a Berlinale Talent and in 2023 a jury member at the first steps awards.
