Born in Mexico city. Based in Berlin since 2006. She studied film at the San Francisco Film Institute (U.S.A.) Then back to Mexico to study at the CUEC (Center for Film Studies). She holds a degree as Director of Photography from the DFFB (German TV and Film Academy Berlin). Her degree movie “Hagazussa” has screened at several festivals including BFI London and Sitges Film Festival. Her work was awarded with the Michael Ballhaus Prize in 2018. She is co-founder of Retina Fabrik Filmproduktion. Member of the Deutsche Filmakademie and member of the Mexican female DoP's network Apertura. In 2021 Mariel is invited to be part of the AMC (Mexican Society of Cinematographers).

Petra is an award-winning feature film and commercial cinematographer, based in the US as well as in Europe. After graduating from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, she received her MFA in Cinematography from the prestigious American Film Institute (AFI) in Los Angeles. Since then, Petra has shot a vast array of high-end TV shows and commercials, as well as numerous American and international feature films: both, for major studios and independent. Petra is a member of the International Cinematographers Guild (ICG) – Hollywood, BAFTA (UK) and the Austrian Association of Cinematographers (AAC). She is represented by Innovative Artists agency in Los Angeles and holds an EU passport in addition to a US work visa.

Studied history of art at the university of Berlin and worked as 1st AC before she began to study cinematography at Hamburg Media School. Her diploma film THE RUNAWAY won a Student Academy Award 2005 & Academy Award Nomination 2006. Kodak chose her as participant in its Emerging Filmmakers Program at Cannes. Her cinematography for the feature YOU TOLD ME, THAT YOU LOVE ME dir. by Rudolf Thome won 2007 the National Competition for Women DoPs. She shoots experimental film, features and documentaries - like PINK (2008) and THE RED ROOM (2010) by Thome and the latest project SANKT (2017) of the danish artist Lene Markusen. For the documentary HELLO I AM DAVID! she received Deutscher Kamerapreis 2016.

Julia Jalnasow was born 1987 in the former GDR. After graduating highschool in 2007 she started working as a projectionist and camera assistent in Munich. Between 2008 and 2014 she studied cinematography at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg as well as at the la Fémis in Paris. In 2014 she finished her studies with a diploma. Since then she shot several documentaries and fictional movies as well as TV-Series. 2014 she won the First Steps Award / Michael Ballhaus Cameraprize, in 2016 the prize for best cinematography at the IFFF Cologne and in 2017 an international Emmy for „The Braun Family". 2018 she became a Berlinale Talent and in 2023 a jury member at the first steps awards.
