Born in South Africa in 1975, Yoliswa grew up in Tübingen, Germany. For two years she studied Fine Art Photography in South Africa and six years cinematography at Potsdam-Babelsberg film school(HFF). Since 2013 she has been a member of the European and the German Film Academy. For five semesters she lectured at the Film University Potsdam Babelsberg as a stand in for the professor of cinematography. As director of photography Yoliswa has worked in various countries including Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, Finland, Great Britain, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Poland, Russia, Serbia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, USA.
