Susanna Salonen was born in Finnland in 1966 and she was raised mostly in Germany. After working in lighting and camera departments for several years, she has been working as documentary camerawoman since 1996. Several films were shown on reknown film festivals, e.g. the Berlin film festival. Besides camerawork, she also directs. Her fictional debut as a director, Patong Girl, won the prestigious „Grimme“ Award in Germany.
