
Katja Rivas Pinzon studied cinematography at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. In 2018, she received an Honorable Mention at the IFFF Cologne for her cinematography in the graduation film MAMA TOLD ME NOT TO LOOK INTO THE SUN. The film SEARCHING FRITZ KANN was released in cinemas in 2023 and won the LÜDIA award at the Kinofest Lünen. For ZONE, which premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, she has been nominated for the German Film Critics’ Award 2025 in the category of Best Cinematography. She has a strong interest in layered narratives with complex characters. Through her camera work, she aims to create nuanced images that capture the finest details and open up new perspectives while also enjoying technical precision.
