Jana Pape is a director of photography who tends to fall in love with a good screenplay. She has a strong affinity for preproduction and an overaverage knowledge about workflows in postproduction. More than everything she enjoys the creative and collaborative part to craft moving images out of written story. She's a MA&BA graduate in cinematography of the Filmuniversity Babelsberg Konrad Wolf as well as dffb’s up.grade program about the art and science of color grading, and an AV-media designer by trade.
2019 she's been nominated for the German Cinematography Award for her work on MASCARPONE. Her films have been screened worldwide at Venice Filmfestival, BUSAN, FNC Montreal, DOK Leipzig, Diagonale, Filmfest Dresden and more to come.
