Dunja Engelbrecht has been working as a freelance cinematographer since 2015 filming documentaries. She mainly films stories about people, other cultures and environmental topics. Her work has taken her all over the world, from the jungles of Brazil to the desert in Namibia and the Carpathian Mountains in Poland. She was awarded the German Cinematographer Award in 2020 for the documentary „Re: Holzkohle adé – Polens Köhler vor dem Aus“ for her outstanding authentic filming. Dunja Engelbrecht studied Film and TV at the university Mittweida. She has lived in Leipzig since 2017.
