She studied Cinematography at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Since 1999 she works as Director of Photography for feature films, TV Series and documentaries. Since 2005 she also works for the American Artist Amie Siegel. Her first feature film "Nordrand" D: Barbara Albert premiered in the Competition section of the Venice Film Festival. In 2006 her film "Grbavica" D: Jasmila Zbanic won the Golden Bear at the International Filmfestival Berlin.
2018 she received the Austrian Filmprize for Best Cinematography for the feature film „Madmoiselle Paradis“.
2019 she was again nominated for Best Cinematography for "Life Guidance"
2020 she gets the Art Prize (Film and Media) of the Academy of Arts in Berlin
