After training as an assistant camera operator, I began working as a cinematographer in 1984. I participated as a director of photography in over 70 fiction feature films\u00a0 and documentaries until now. Since 1991 I have taught at several film schools. From 2006 to 2011 Head-Manager of the camera department at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb). Since 2011 professor at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne (KHM). I'm based in Berlin and Cologne and have dual German \u2013 French nationality.
