Philine Hofmann, who grew up in Vienna, works as a cinematographer in advertising and narrative film. She discovered her passion for filmmaking early on and began working independently in the film industry after graduating. As a self-taught filmmaker, she gained several years of experience as an assistant camera, lighting technician, and photographer, and attended masterclasses by the ASC and BSC. In 2024, she shot the online series “Alle Lieben Ali.” Her short film “Mosquito” premiered at the Diagonale in 2026, and “Am Wasser” won the “Newbie Award” at IDIF. Her style is naturalistic, close to people and emotions. Her work is supportive and intuitive, and she is strongly committed to promoting diversity behind the camera.
