Natalia Mikhaylova was born in Leningrad, Soviet Union. She was studying literature in St. Petersburg, 2006 moved to Berlin and graduated from Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen, Potsdam in 2012 (Diploma). In 2013 she was nominated „best cinematography“ at IFFF Dortmund | Cologne for her work as DoP for the short film "Komm Hinters Licht" by Judith Beuth. Her own feature documentary "Zelim's Confession" participated in numerous film festivals and won prizes. She lives in Berlin.
